Good afternoon and welcome to coverage of the 2017 Cosafa Cup quarterfinal between South Africa and Tanzania from the Royal Bafokeng Stadium in Rustenburg, on Sunday 2 July 2017.
Commentary:
All times CAT
90+5' - Full time - Done and dusted, Tanzania have won 1-0 and will play Zambia in the semifinals on Wednesday, while South Africa drop into the Plate competition and will battle Botswana on Tuesday.
90+2' - Webber with a great cross from the right, Gordinho has the goal at his mercy and puts the ball over! That's surely the game lost for Bafana...
90' - Salim Hoza and Hamim Karim replace Hoth and Ramadhani in Tanzania's final changes.
89' - Moseamedi turns and shoots from long range, but Manula makes a relatively comfortable save.
88' - Manula is booked for time wasting.
87' - Mokate flagged offside as he chases down Maela's long ball down the flank. It's just not happening for SA...
85' - Gordinho with a sight of goal, but his touch lets him down and Mukumela then blasts wide from long range.
82' - Tanzania want Moseamedi to get a second yellow card for a lazy challenge on the goalkeeper, but the referee isn't interested in their appeals.
80' - Moseamedi does well to dig out a cross from the right by-line, but Kapombe is there to make a good clearance.
78' - Norodien makes way for Lebogang Maboe in the second change for South Africa.
75' - A quarter hour of regulation time left, can Bafana Bafana find a way back into this game or are they destined for an early exit on home soil?
72' - Maguri goes into the referee's book for dissent.
71' - Norodien's corner kick is missed by Moseamedi and Booysen... another half-chance wasted for the hosts.
68' - Manula with a good palm away from Mokate, as the striker looks to get on the end of a long diagonal ball into the box.
65' - Webber's attempted through ball is overhit and another attack comes to nothing for SA. The quality of Bafana's passing in the final third of the field simply has not been good enough.
63' - Norodien's corner kick almost finds its way directly into goal, but Manula does well to paw it away.
60' - Mohau Mokate replaces Jordan in SA's first substitution.
57' - Webber with a dangerous ball across the face of goal and Alexander can't quite put a finishing touch on it! Close but no cigar for Bafana Bafana.
55' - Ramadhani cuts inside and looks to shoot, but his effort is well blocked.
53' - Gordinho with a good headed clearance before Loch is flagged offside. Much more enterprising play from Tanzania early in the second half.
50' - Tanzania make a change as Ulimwengu is replaced by Simon Msuva.
47' - Moseamedi receives the first yellow card of the match for an aerial challenge with Kapombe.
46' - Back underway in the second half, no changes from either team at the break.
45+1' - Half time - The half ends with SA threatening again from a corner kick, but it's Tanzania who hold the lead thanks to capitalising on their only real scoring chance.
43' - Moseamedi with a half chance as he tries an improvised volley from Gordinho's knock-down, but the ball skips wide of goal. It's all Bafana as the half time break approaches...
40' - A couple of corners in quick succession for Bafana, the second of which causes some consternation in the Tanzania defence before they get it clear.
38' - Norodien with a fine cross looking for Moseamedi, but Mbonde makes a good headed clearance.
35' - Maguri caught offside, again it's a poor decision from the linesman. The Taifa Stars are looking to play almost exclusively on the counter attack now...
31' - Past the half hour mark, Tanzania lead 1-0 thanks to Maguri's 18th-minute goal.
29' - Good stuff from Norodien as he attacks down the right and whips in a cross which forces Tanzania into conceding a corner. The set piece is well delivered, but collected confidently by Manula.
27' - Alexander puts a pass through for Moseamedi to chase, but the 'keeper gets to it first.
24' - SA with a free kick in a useful position near the penalty area. Jordan looks to play it square and short but it doesn't quite work out, a wasted opportunity.
21' - Bafana looking for a quick reply, they have been stung by that goal from the Taifa Stars.
18' - GOAL! SA 0-1 Tanzania - Maguri puts Tanzania in the lead! He springs the offside trap, has a good first touch and fires a low shot past Pule's left hand!
17' - Moseamedi has the ball in the back of the net but he's been flagged offside again. TV replays suggest it was a poor decision.
16' - Good defence from the home side as they snuff out the threat of Ulimwengu. Past the quarter hour mark now and still goalless.
13' - SA goalkeeper Pule makes a good interception to collect Ramadhani's left-wing cross.
11' - Moseamedi flagged offside in a very tight decision. Tanzania need to be careful not be caught square...
9' - Sustained pressure from Bafana Bafana in the last few minutes, they look the more enterprising team thus far.
7' - Alexander with a looping cross, Jordan gets a shot on target and Tanzania goalkeeper Manula has to make a good save to deny the young Bafana striker!
6' - Tanzania's Ulimwengu gets on the end of a right-wing cross with a header at the far post, but his effort is no threat to the goal.
4' - But the prize on offer is a place in the semifinals against Zambia this midweek. The Taifa Stars could be a little fatigued, as this is their fourth game in the space of a week.
3' - It's a tough test for the hosts and reigning champions South Africa - they have very much a makeshift team against a nearly full-strength Tanzania.
1' - Kick-off - We are underway in Rustenburg! South Africa wear gold and green, Tanzania are in all blue.
16h55 - Pilani Ncube from Zimbabwe is the referee for this match.
16h50 - The teams are out on the pitch, time for the national anthems.
16h30 - Half an hour to kick-off, here are the starting XIs:
SA: Pule, Booysen, Maela, Gordinho, Norodien, Alexander, Masalesa, Mukumela, Webber, Moseamedi, Jordan
Tanzania: Manula, Kamagi, Nyoni, Mbonde, Mao, Maguri, Ulimwengu, Loth, Ramadhani, Yasin, Kapombe
