Ahead of the 2017 COSAFA Cup semi-final encounter against Lesotho, Zimbabwe's national team vice skipper, Ocean Mushure says Ovidy Karuru is world class.

The Warriors are now on the verge of reaching the final as they are set to meet Likoena from Lesotho on Wednesday.

Mushure has two goals next to his name in the regional showpiece and has backed his skipper Karuru to win the top goalscorer award.

“We are very happy for him. He has been driving this team and his performances have been top-class,” said Mushure to the News Day.

“We want him to win the award, and even to break the record. As a team, we will help him. He should continue getting into scoring positions, and we will find him.

“The good thing is he is very sharp and clinical in front of goal.

“They are a good team and we will have to be at our very best to win. They are not at this stage by chance.

“They earned their place and so we will have to respect them. But we have a very good side and I believe we will be too strong for them.

“It would be nice to qualify for the finals, and we will do our best to reach that stage.”

The match against the Likoena from the Mountainous Kingdom will be staged at Moruleng Stadium at 19:30 (CAT) on Wednesday.
