Just after reaching the quarter-finals of the CAF Champions League, PUMA and Mamelodi Sundowns have unveiled a new STEP OUT jersey.
The African champions recently unveiled a new home and away shirt for the 2017/18 South African Premier Soccer League campaign and have now released their third one.
In statement released to the media, the global sports manufacturer has also unveiled STEP OUT shirts for PUMA-sponsored teams such as Arsenal, Leicester City in England and German giants and Borussia Dortmund among others.
It is announced that Pitso Mosimane's charges will don the shirt for the first time when they face Maritzburg United in the MTN8 Cup in August next month.
“We want the STEP OUT kit to represent a very special period in the history of the Club. This kit is bold, unique and is something new in the South African football scene,” said communications manager, Thulani Thuswa.
On the other hand, PUMA's Marketing Manager, Brett Bellinger said the Brazilians will have confidence in their new kit.
“When you STEP OUT to face your great rivals on their turf you have to turn up the intimidation factor, occupy the stadium and make it yours,” said Bellinger.
“Sundowns are the Kings of Africa so when they STEP OUT in this kit, they will have the confidence to believe this is not an away ground, this is our ground. Then STEP OUT and PLAY LOUD.”
According to a statement, the kit is technically advanced design with unique detailing inspired by The Brazilians home ground Chloorkop and the shirt is already available in stores in South Africa.
With some of the PSL clubs having started their pre-season preparations, Sundowns players are on a three-week holiday after Sunday’s last group game against DR Congo's AS Vita Club and will be back on August 1.
