English Championship outfit Birmingham City have snapped up Senegalese midfielder Cheikh N'Doye from French Ligue 1 club Angers SCO.
The 31-year-old midfielder has joined City, who are coached by Harry Redknapp, on a two-year deal following a two-year stint with Angers
British tactician Redknapp explained why they beefed up their squad with the signing of N'Doye when speaking to the club's official website.
"He's an imposing figure. Big, strong, aggressive - and he can play. I like him. I think he's going to be a big asset to us." Redknapp said.
"We have been chasing him for quite a while. It's dragged on a bit, but we're delighted to have got him.
"I think he had big offers from China but he decided he wanted to come and play in England with us," he added.
"He's a powerhouse. He's made for English football. He's got strength, he can run, he's got all that it takes to be a good player here."
The English side are hoping to sign more players as they look to challenge for the Championship title next season and secure promotion to the Premier League.
"Hopefully there will be more coming in. We are still looking to improve the squad, we are trying," Redknapp continued.
"The lads here have done well. I've been pleased with them. They've worked hard and we've got some good players.
"But hopefully there will be one or two more to come in to give us a stronger squad."
N'Doye, who captained Angers, made 65 league appearances during his two-year spell with the club, - finding the back of the net 14 times in the process.
