Burkina Faso star Bertrand Traore has explained that he is not a replacement for Alexandre Lacazette at Olympique Lyon.
Following Lacazette’s big-money move to Arsenal earlier this month, Traore is being viewed as the natural heir to the French striker’s crown at the Ligue 1 club and has even been given his old number 10 jersey.
However, the Stallions attacker, who joined Lyon from Chelsea, insists that he is a completely different player and should not be viewed as a like-for-like replacement.
"I am ready to give everything when I am on the ground,” Traore said over the weekend.
“I do not replace Alex Lacazette. He's not the same profile. We know what he did for OL.
"He is a great striker and I envy him a lot. I am fortunate today to have the number 10. It is a pleasure and an honor.
“I hope I meet expectations. I will fight, try to give everything to bring to the team."
