In the wake of their win over Zimbabwe during their 2018 CAF Africa Nations Championships second leg qualifier, Namibia coach Ricardo Mannetti has hailed the mentality of his players.

The Brave Warriors headed to Harare at the back of their 1-0 win in Windhoek last week and were hoping to finish the job.

Although the two nations played to a 1-1 draw in the regulation time in Harare, Namibia edged their hosts 5-4 on penalties on Sunday.

“We played a very good Zimbabwe team that was in a great shape than us but our hunger was stronger than them,” said Mannetti.

“The mentality have won us this round. We wanted it more than them. The boys defended well, created chances and that was very brave of them.

“When Immanuel scored that penalty we could not contain ourselves. We are enjoying the moment and we will go for dinner at High Commissioner Residence and we will enjoy ourselves.”

Meanwhile, reports in the country reveal that the Brave Warriors are set to return home on Monday and will prepare to travel to Comoros for their next CHAN qualifier on August 11.

The second meeting will be staged in Windhoek eight days later and the winner will qualify to the 2018 CHAN to be held in Kenya.
