The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) have already began preparations for the Super Eagles' titanic clash with their rivals Cameroon.

The two crucial 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifying matches against Cameroon will be accorded high level of seriousness according to the NFF.

Barrister Chris Green, the NFF's Chairman of the NFF Technical and Development Committee, says Nigeria do not fear the Indomitable Lions.

“Everyone involved in one arrangement or the other with regards to the matches," Green said.

The Super Eagles are scheduled to host the reigning African champions on 31 August 2017, while Cameroon will welcome Nigeria on 4 September 2017.

"Including the technical crew, are working in tandem. We are approaching these matches with the seriousness it deserves," he continued.

“The Cameroonians are the reigning champions of Africa; we respect them for that but that is where it ends. We have no reason to fear them.

"A few years ago, we were also the champions of Africa. We are in one accord with the players and the technical bench to achieve victory in both matches.”

Nigeria are sitting at the top of their qualifying group with six points with four matches left, while second placed Cameroon have two points.

Only the winners will qualify for next year's World Cup finals which will be hosted by Russia between June and July.
