The Botswana Premier League (BPL) have stated that they are anticipating a great 2017/18 season.

The BPL have been in talks with league sponsors, Botswana Telecommunications Corporation (BTC) and Top 8 Cup sponsors, Mascom over extending their deals.

Recent reports have indicated that negotiations have gone well and the BPL will soon make an announcement regarding the new sponsorship agreements.

Rapula Okaile, the BPL chairman, has indicated that they are waiting for the Botswana Football Association (BFA) to give them the go-ahead order.

"We are just waiting for the BFA Assembly then our league season will kick-off," Okaile told Botswana Football.

"I'm confident that we are going to have a better and competent season.

"All teams seem to be preparing very well and we expect fireworks."

Township Rollers won last season's BPL title, while Jwaneng Galaxy clinched the Mascom Top 8 Cup.
