Austrian first division side SC Rheindorf Altach look set to sign Ghana striker Bernard Tekpetey on loan for the 2017/18 season.

GHANASoccernet reports that the 19-year-old, who is contracted to German Bundesliga giants Schalke 04, is being sent on loan to gain first-team experience.

The teenager joined Schalke in early 2016 after a successful trial period with the club. However, he has seen little playing time with the first team, instead appearing predominantly for the reserves.

Tekpetey, who was a member of Ghana’s squad at the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations, will hope to impress on loan in Austria, with his contract at Schalke set to come to an end in 2018.
