Eriksson was speaking to a radio channel, Mega FM, when he confirmed that the inquiry came from the Cairo giants as the club is currently searching for a new coach.

The White Knights are without a coach after parting ways with Augusto Inacio after days of tension involving a row with the club chairman, Mortada Mansour.
“Egypt is a great country and Zamalek is a well known club,” the Swedish coach told Mega FM.
“My agent told me that someone from Zamalek contacted him and told him about the club’s interest in signing me. They will have another call on Monday.
“I have no details regarding Zamalek’s interest. We will have another phone call with an official from the club to speak about the offer.”
Meanwhile, Eriksson is currently jobless after his contract with Chinese side Shenzhen FC expired.
Although the White Knights have reportedly offered a salary package of $1 million, Eriksson’s reported salary range is around $3 million.
