South African attacking midfielder George Lebese has left Absa Premiership giants Kaizer Chiefs.
The 28-year-old player, who spent nine years with Chiefs, has joined South African outfit Mamelodi Sundowns ahead of the 2017/18 season.
“The deal was concluded this (Thursday) afternoon. We’ve seen Lebese grow with us and we released him at his request," Chiefs football manager Bobby Motaung told the club's official website.
"We are happy that the negotiations went well and an agreement has been reached with Sundowns.
“Kaizer Chiefs do not stand in the way when the players express their desire to leave," he added.
“It’s our policy. We thank Lebese for his contribution to the success of the team and wish him all of the best in his future endeavours.”
Meanwhile, Chiefs also confirmed that Zimbabwe international Michelle Katsvairo has moved to Tanzanian club Singida United FC.
The 27-year-old midfielder-cum-striker has joined United on a season-long loan deal from Chiefs as he looks to revive his career in the East African country.
