Playing in front of their home crowd Nigeria will be out to avenge their 1-0 defeat they suffered at the hands of Benin in the first leg of their 2018 CAF African nations Championship qualifier last week.

The return leg is slated for this Saturday and the Super Eagles will be gunning for a big win to erase their defeat.

Coach Gernot Rohr has to come up with a plan to boost their chances of bouncing back in the encounter as well as boosting their chances en route to Kenya.

However, they still have to guard against underestimating their visitors although the home ground advantage could work in their favour.

“We are not bothered by the first leg defeat,” said Chima Akas.

“Come Sunday, Nigerians will see a different performance from us. And I am confident we will qualify for next year’s CHAN.”

Meanwhile, the Squirrels will now target a second win and up the ante to continue where they left off from in the match at the Stade l'Amitie.

Mama Seibou scored the only goal in the previous encounter as he hit the back of the net in the 89th minute through a penalty.

Furthermore, coach Oumar Tchomogo will now face a tough assignment against the Nigerians.

This match will be staged at Sani Abacha Stadium in Kano at 17:00 (CAT).
