James Kwesi Appiah has named a 24-man squad for Ghana’s upcoming 2018 World Cup qualifiers against Congo.
Ghana will host their Group E rivals for the first match in Kumasi on September 1, with the return game four days later in Brazzaville.
Appiah has included two uncapped players in the shape of Edwin Gyasi and Gideon Waja, while the likes of Alfred Duncan, Christian Atsu and Jeffrey Schlupp make a welcome return to the squad.
However, there is still no place for the likes of Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu and Adam Kwarasey, while Kwadwo Asamoah is still absent despite his promise that he would soon make himself available for the national team again.
Veteran striker and captain Asamoah Gyan will lead the squad, with West Ham United midfielder Andre Ayew as his deputy.
