Jeremy Brockie has been nothing but mature and professional through his transfer saga, according to SuperSport United coach Eric Tinkler.

The 29-year-old scored a brace on Saturday night to see United win 2-0 at Maritzburg and secure a place in next month’s MTN8 final.

The Kiwi had been strongly linked with a move away from Matsatsantsa and even put in a transfer request to try and secure a deal with cross-town rivals Mamelodi Sundowns.

SuperSport rejected his request and dropped him for the first leg against Maritzburg, a 1-1 draw played out late last month.

However, Tinkler always believed Brockie would put the issue behind him and regain his focus.

The reward was the striker’s 50th and 51st goals, seeing him close in on Matsatsantsa’s club record of 57 strikes held by the late Abram Raselemane.

"I put that to bed a long time ago and he [Brockie] also put it to bed. Like I have been saying to the press; he has been very, very good in training," Tinkler said after the game.

"He's been very professional, showed a lot of maturity and he understood that the opportunity to make a move will come. And we obviously know what his qualities are and he showed it again tonight [Saturday]."

SuperSport will meet Tinkler’s former team Cape Town City in the final next month.
