Ghana defender Faisal Osman has been ruled out of next month’s 2017 U-17 World Cup due to injury.
The centre-back picked up an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury during training and it has been deemed sufficiently serious to rule him out of the tournament which starts on October 6.
The Young Vipers player has been released from the Black Starlets’ training camp in Abu Dhabi to return home and receive treatment.
Osman was a key figure in Ghana’s team which finished as runners-up at the U-17 Africa Cup of Nations earlier this year.
The U-17 World Cup will be held in India from 6 to 28 October. Ghana have been drawn in Group A and will face Colombia, the United States and hosts India.
