The Federation of Uganda Football Associations has announced that interim coach, Moses Basena will stay on as head coach of Uganda.

FUFA has announced the news that the interim technical team, consisting of Basena and Fred Kajoba will carry out their duties until they finish the 2018 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers.

Apart from Kajoba and Basena, assistants Mathias Lule and Ibrahim Ssekajja will also form part of the technical team.

Media reports in Uganda reveal the decision was done by the FUFA Executive Committee during their 15th meeting held on Tuesday.

The FUFA CEO, Edgar Watson confirmed the move to the media on Wednesday during a news conference.

“Basena will continue as head coach alongside all his assistants,” said Watson.

“It was agreed upon during the FUFA Executive Committee meeting.

“They will remain coaches for the national team until the end of the 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.”

Basena and Kajoba took over the national team after the resignation of Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredejovic in July.

The duo’s initial contract was to handle the national team for four matches, two apiece in the 2018 CHAN and FIFA Qualifiers.
