Media reports in Uganda reveal the decision was done by the FUFA Executive Committee during their 15th meeting held on Tuesday.

The FUFA CEO, Edgar Watson confirmed the move to the media on Wednesday during a news conference.

“Basena will continue as head coach alongside all his assistants,” said Watson.

“It was agreed upon during the FUFA Executive Committee meeting.

“They will remain coaches for the national team until the end of the 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.”

Basena and Kajoba took over the national team after the resignation of Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredejovic in July.

The duo’s initial contract was to handle the national team for four matches, two apiece in the 2018 CHAN and FIFA Qualifiers.
