Nigerian marksman Chuba Akpom says they do a banter about his Arsenal teammate Alexis Sanchez's failed move to Manchester City on transfer deadline day this summer.
The 21-year-old striker, who was born in England, disclosed that Arsenal players and fans are delighted that the highly-rated Chile international is still a Gunner.
Sanchez's proposed move to the former English champions fell through because Arsenal were unable to sign a replacement at short notice.
The Gunners failed to sign their long-term target Thomas Lemar from French Ligue 1 giants AS Monaco.
''We do banter about it to be fair," Akpom was quoted on Daily Star.
''But at the end of the day, he’s still at Arsenal. Everyone is happy, the fans are happy and he’s happy.
''I think with a player like Sanchez he just blocks it out because all he wants to do is play football," the forward, who is of Nigerian descent, continued.
''He’s so focused on football, he blocks out a lot of negativity and transfer rumours.''
Akpom has been playing for the England youth national teams, but in March, 2017, it was reported he has switched his allegiance to Nigeria.
