The Cape Verdean Football Federation (FCF) have named the Blue Sharks squad that will take on Senegal next month.

The two nations will meet in the 2018 FIFA World Cup qualification Group D match at the Estádio Nacional de Cabo Verde in Praia, Cape Verde on Saturday, 7 October.

Midfielder Kevin Oliveira of Kansas City and central defender Admar of Sporting da Praia have been named in the squad.

Admar has been called by Cape Verde coach Luico Antunes as Greece-based defender Fernando Varela is out nursing an injury.

Garry Rodrigues, the Galatasaray forward, who netted twice against South Africa in two Group D matches earlier this month, is part of the squad.

The Blue Sharks will go top of group standings if they defeat Senegal and the other result between South Africa and Burkina Faso go their way.

List of 23 players :

Goalkeepers: Vozinha (AEL Limassol / Cyprus) and Márcio Rosa (Desportivo de Chaves / Portugal).

Defenders: Tiago Almeida (Polithenic Iasi / Romania), Ricardo (Paços de Ferreira / Portugal), Steven Pereira (MVV / Holland), Fernando Varela (PAOK / Greece), Vally Ponck (Sport of the Birds / Cape Verde) and Admar Almeida (Sporting of the Beach / Cape Verde).

Midfielders: Danilo da Cruz (Stade de Reims / France), Marco Soares (AEL Limassol / Cyprus), Platiny (Polithenic Iasi / Romania), Hélder Tavares (Tondela / Portugal), Jamiro Monteiro (Heracles / Holland), Nuno Rocha Babanco (Feirense / Portugal) and Kévin Oliveira (Kansas City / USA).

Forwards: Garry Rodrigues (Galatasaray / Turkey), Ryan Mendes (Kayserispor / Turkey), Nuno da Costa (Strasbourg / France), Ricardo Gomes (Nacional / Portugal) and Wuilito Fernandes (Orange County / USA).
