Ghanaian defender Abdul Razak Yussif is reportedly in a stable condition following the head injury he suffered in the U-17 World Cup on Monday.
Yussif suffered a sickening head-to-head collision with American captain Josh Sargent in a Group A match and was knocked out cold.
He was rushed to hospital in New Delhi, where he is receiving treatment and underwent cranial and cervical CT scans.
GHANASoccernet reports that he is “stable and conscious” but will need to remain in hospital for several days to undergo further observation.
This means Yussif will play no part in Ghana’s final group stage match against India on Thursday, 12 October.
