Just after seeing their 2018 FIFA World Cup dream coming to an end, former Zambia skipper Elijah Tana has urged coach Wedson Nyirenda to consider selecting Rainford Kalaba.
Tana says Zambia still need the services of the experienced TP Mazembe midfielder who has been sidelined from the Chipolopolo set up by Nyirenda allegedly on disciplinary grounds.
Nyirenda overlooked Kalaba ahead of Zambia’s last three World Cup Qualifiers against Nigeria and Algeria which were played in a space of seven weeks.

Speaking to Lusaka Times, Tana said he feels Kalaba, Nathan Sinkala and Collins Mbesuma should be recalled.
“Experience matters in football. We need Rainford Kalaba, Nathan Sinkala and Collins Mbesuma. Let’s fuse in these players I have mentioned,” he said.
“We need to maintain those Under-20 players but we need to fuse in experienced players.
“It is unfortunate we lost (to Nigeria), but we played well. We can’t even complain. We just need to move forward.”
