FIFA have rejected Ghana’s complaint against South African referee Daniel Bennett and his assistants following last weekend’s World Cup qualifier away to Uganda.
Ghana were denied what looked to have been a legitimate last-gasp winner due to an incorrect offside call from the assistant.
The Black Stars were hoping for a similar outcome to Senegal, who were successful in seeing their loss to South Africa last year - which was handled by discredited Ghanaian referee Joseph Lamptey - annulled by FIFA.
However, FIFA have rejected Ghana’s appeals, with the organisation stating that “no proceedings will be opened around the World Cup qualifier match Uganda vs. Ghana”.
Egypt have secured top spot in Ghana’s group to claim World Cup qualification for the first time since 1990.
