Kaizer Chiefs boss, Kaizer Motaung is celebrating his 73rd birthday on Monday and current as well as former players have wished 'Chincha Guluva' all the best.

Goalkeeper Itumeleng Khune says the Amakhosi boss is a father figure based on his knowledge of the game and is very humble.

The Naturena-based side will hope to present the chairman with wins as gifts as they will face rivals Mamelodi Sundowns and Orlando Pirates this week.

Coach Steve Komphela will lead his men to Loftus Versfeld Stadium on Tuesday against the Brazilians and will face the Buccaneers at FNB Stadium on Saturday.

“The chairman is very humble‚” said Khune to the club's website. “He is a real father figure to me‚ not only when it comes to soccer advice but also about life in general and his door is always open.”

Former Bafana Bafana and Chiefs defender‚ Lucas Radebe said Motaung is one of the best leaders he has come across.

“He’s an amazing man with strong values and he treats everybody with respect‚” adds the former Leeds United defender.

“Kaizer is like a father figure for most players‚ especially for me and my teammates at the time which included youngsters like Doctor Khumalo‚ Gardner Seale and Ntsie Maphike.

"He was always approachable when players were looking for advice and he has imparted a lot of wisdom.
