Kenyan media reports reveal that SportPesa Premier League champions, Tusker, have suspended coach George Nsimbe until the end of the season.

The Daily Nation Sport reports that the Ugandan mentor has been working on borrowed time after the team failed to defend the titles won last year.

Tusker were knocked out of the GOtv Shield by National Super League outfit Vihiga United in August while hopes of retaining the league gong have been fading.

The failure to defend the league title follows a bad start to the campaign with recent results not convincing enough to chase down runaway leaders Gor Mahia.

Club CEO Charles Obiny is said to have informed the players of the coach's suspension on Tuesday and the move was confirmed by a senior player.

“He will not be with us until the end of the season, that’s what we were informed after today’s (Tuesday) training session,” said the player Daily Sport website.

“The decision on his future will be made at the completion of the season.”

The Kenyan website suggests that the decision to suspend the Ugandan, who replaced Paul Nkata at the beginning of the season, was reached at in a stormy meeting at the club base in Ruaraka last week.
