Egyptian giants Al Ahly were in spectacular form, scoring six goals as they crushed Tunisian side Etoile Sahel 6-2 in the second leg of their CAF Champions League semifinal at the Borg-El Arab Stadium on Sunday night.

The emphatic win, combined with the 2-1 score line in the first leg last weekend, sees Al Ahly into the final of the African continent’s biggest club competition, 7-4, on aggregate where they will face Morocco’s Wydad Casablanca.

Al Ahly got off to the perfect start with the game’s opening goal in the third minute courtesy of a clinical finish from Ali Maaloul, 1-0 (2-2 on aggregate)

The Egyptian side continued to dominate matters after that and managed to double their lead in the 23rd minute when Walid Asarou found the back of the net with a good strike, 2-0 (3-2 on aggregate).

Five minutes before the half time break Walid Asarou scored his second of the game and his side’s third after wrapping up a clinical passing move with a neat finish, 3-0 (4-2 on aggregate).

Etoile Sahel tried to find their way back into the match and pulled a goal back in the 51st minute thanks to a strike from Rami Bedoui, 4-1 (5-3 on aggregate).

The Tunisian side’s joy, though, was short-lived when Al Ahly found their fifth goal of the game courtesy of an own goal from Hamdi Nagguez on the hour mark, 5-1 (6-3 on aggregate).

The icing on the cake for the Egyptian side was their sixth goal on the night, scored by Ramy Rabia in the 63rd minute, 6-1 (7-3 on aggregate).

Etoile Sahel did have the last say with their second goal of the game in the 91st minute thanks to a strike from Iheb Msakni, 6-2 (7-4 on aggregate).
