After a hard fought win at home in their CAF Champions League semi-final on Sunday, Al Ahly coach Hossam El Badry reveals how he beat Etoile Sportive du Sahel.
The Red Devils bagged a 6-2 win at the Borg El-Arab Stadium after a 2-1 loss in the opening leg away in Tunisia.
El Badry states that Sahel had two main problems that he exploited to achieve the win which saw them qualify to the CAF Champions League final.
AL AHLY CRUSH ETOILE SAHEL TO REACH CHAMPIONS LEAGUE FINAL
“Before the game, we only focused on the victory and not conceding any goals from Etoile du Sahel. We initially played for the 1-0 win, but with god’s will and the players’ efforts, it became easier and we managed to score a lot more,” said El-Badry.
“We were dealing with Etoile du Sahel with their positive and negative aspects, which we studied very well before the game.
“They have two main problems: the players’ positioning and and the wide space between the midfielders and the defenders, which we managed to exploit perfectly.
“We will celebrate the win today and then start preparing for the final against Wydad Casablanca as they are a very strong and special team.”
The Egyptian giants will face Wydad Casablanca in the first leg final in Egypt on October 27 and will play the return leg in Morocco on November 4.
