South African goalkeeper Oscarine Masuluke missed out on the Puskas Award for the best goal of the 2016/17 season at the FIFA Football Awards last night.
The Baroka FC glovesman was nominated for his incredible overhead kick which earned a 1-1 draw against Orlando Pirates back in November 2016.
However, both Masuluke and Venezuela’s Deyna Castellanos were beaten to the prize by Arsenal’s French striker Olivier Giroud, who scored an incredible scorpion kick against Crystal Palace last term.
Real Madrid duo Cristiano Ronaldo and Zinedine Zidane were named Best Men’s Player and Best Men’s Coach respectively, while Juventus' Gianluigi Buffon picked up the Best Goalkeeper award.
