AFC Leopards book 2018 CAF Confederation Cup spot

Kenya will have a representative in the CAF Confederation Cup next year after AFC Leopards beat Kariobangi Sharks 2-0 in the final of the domestic cup known as the GOtv Shield.

Defender Salim Abdallah and striker Vincent Oburu scored a goal in each half last weekend as Ingwe returned to continental football for the first time since 2013.

Following their massive achievement, coach Robert Matano said they have managed to end the season on a high after a poor start.

"We have struggled in the league this season and this was a great way to end the season well. We now focus on ensuring we perform well in continental football next year but I am very happy we have won," Matano said.
