Nigerian striker Kelechi Iheanacho has hinted that his maiden goal for Leicester City could be the start of a scoring spree.
The 21-year-old Super Eagles star scored his first Foxes goal on Tuesday night, netting with a fine effort in their 3-1 win over Leeds United in the League Cup.
Iheanacho also provided an assist for Algerian striker Islam Slimani in what was his best showing in a Leicester shirt since his move from Manchester City.
“I wanted to take it with my right foot but I wasn’t too sure, so I got it back onto my left foot and put it into the corner,” Iheanacho told LCFC TV.
“It was a great goal so I’m happy to get a goal and help the team to go to the next round.
“It means a lot to me. I’m happy to get my first goal and I hope there are many more to come in the future.”
Iheanacho will hope to feature in the starting XI for Leicester when they host Everton in a Premier League match on Sunday.
