Mamelodi Sundowns head coach Pitso Mosimane has told the club's fans to brace themselves for a bumpy ride.

The Brazilians have struggled to replicate the form that spearheaded them to CAF Champions League glory 12 months ago, with a surprise 2-1 defeat to AmaZulu in the Absa Premiership last weekend highlighting their recent troubles.

As per KickOff.com, in 53 games played since lifting the title in Alexandria, Sundowns have recorded 26 wins, 15 defeats and 12 draws across all competitions.

During this period they have only added the CAF Super Cup to their trophy cabinet, with Bidvest Wits claiming league glory in May.

Three losses in their past four games doesn't make for good reading, and the Tshwane giants will as a result be desperate to return to winning ways when they take on Chippa United in the Telkom Knockout Cup this weekend.

"Hopefully we can turn things around, but it is a bit difficult for Sundowns," said Mosimane. "I was telling the players and a message must also go out to our supporters that they must buckle up this season.

"I see a little bit of turbulence along the way and Sundowns fans must be patient..... but they must buckle up.

"It is going to be a tough season because we did not stabilise the team this year due to a lot of injuries.

"I have not found my starting eleven proper," he concluded.
