Kaizer Chiefs were held to a 0-0 draw by Polokwane City in an Absa Premiership match at the Peter Mokaba Stadium on Tuesday night.
As a result, Rise and Shine move to position 11 on the league table, while Amakhosi remain in fourth spot on the log.
The hosts were the better side in the early stages of the encounter as they applied some pressure on the Chiefs defence.
However, the Amakhosi defence which was led by South Africa international Erick Mathoho looked solid.
Polokwane's hard-running striker Rodney Ramagalela kept the Chiefs defence very busy with his pace.
He was able to test Chiefs goalkeeper Itumeleng Khune, who had kept two clean sheets in his last two competitive games.
Khune produced a great save to deny Ramagalela in the 21st minute as Rise and Shine looked to break the deadlock.
Chiefs winger Joseph Molangoane was looking lively for the visitors, but he was tightly marked by the Polokwane defence.
The score was 0-0 at half-time between Polokwane and Chiefs following a tightly contested first-half.
The hosts should have broken the deadlock through Rendani Ndou 10 minutes into the second-half after the visitors' defence was exposed.
However, Khune made a great save to deny Polokwane captain Jabulani Maluleke and Ndou missed the target from close range from the rebound.
The Rise and Shine defence was then pressed by Amakhosi, but Hendrick Ekstein, Siphiwe Tshabalala and Dumisani Zuma missed the target.
Khune then produced a good low save to deny Ndou in the latter stages of the game - ensuring that the match ended in a 0-0 draw.
