Tinkler happy with response as SSP now eye African glory

SuperSport United head coach Eric Tinkler was happy with the response from his team as the club now turn their attention to the 2017 CAF Confederations Cup final.

Matsatsantsa cruised to a 3-0 win over Golden Arrows a the Mbombela Stadium on Tuesday evening with Aubrey Modiba netting a brace for the Tshwane club.

Having crashed out of the Telkom Knockout Cup this past weekend, Tinkler called for a response from his team and duly got one with the club condemning Arrows to their first Absa Premiership defeat of the season.

"Great performance, overall fantastic, we should have scored more, but I thought we were very solid," Tinkler said in the aftermath.

"I got that performance [I wanted], we pressed them very well. We punished them on the transition. We were a bit wasteful, and we could've made it even more comfortable."

SuperSport will renew their rivalry with TP Mazembe in the CAF Confederations Cup showpiece, with the to teams having played to successive stalemates in the group stages of this year's competition.
