Wenger said he may make a bid for AS Monaco's Thomas Lemar in the January transfer window, but he won’t go for Mahrez.
Media reports in England suggest both Lemar and Mahrez have been persistently linked with moves to the Emirates Stadium over the next summer.
However, Wenger always denied he held an interest in Mahrez, but reports suggested that Arsenal will move for the pair when the January transfer window opens in an aim to replace Alexis Sanchez who is expected to move on.
“No [there is no truth in the rumours]. At the moment, I told you I have a big squad, problem for me is to keep the squad together for the rest of the season,” said Wenger.
“Do we go in the January transfer market? I don’t know yet.”
When directly asked bout the 26-year-old Algerian star, the French manager did not hesitate to give a response and sad no he won't go for him.
Meanwhile, Mahrez has not been included in the 30-man CAF African Footballer of the Year shortlist after his form dipped since winning the English Premier League in 2016.
