Bafana Bafana midfielder Bongani Zungu, 25, has been cleared to face Senegal in the 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifier in Dakar on 14 November, but will sit out of the reverse fixture in Polokwane four days earlier (10 November).

South Africa take on the Teranga Lions in crucial back-to-back FIFA World Cup qualifiers this month, with victory in both fixtures to book Stuart Baxter and his troops' ticket to Russia.

The Fifa Disciplinary Committee (DC) decided against imposing a further ban on the French-based midfielder with Safa having appealed his sending off. Zungu, though, has been fined.

“Zungu is suspended for one match, including automatic suspension, after breaching Fifa Disciplinary Code during a match against Burkina Faso,” said Fifa in a statement.

Zungu had been included in Baxter's 25-man squad to face Senegal in back-to-back qualifiers, pending the Fifa DC outcome.
