Ivory Coast star Serge Aurier has revealed how Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino convinced him to move from Paris Saint-Germain.
The Elephants right-back admitted that Pochettino spoke to him on Facetime (a videotelephony app), and added that Hugo Lloris also helped to saw his decision in favour of a move to North London.
Aurier recalled to Canal Football Club: "I found the smile. The coach called me on Facetime and really showed me his desire to see me arrive. Lloris also made the push for me to come.
"For me, it was the right choice. After a while, I did not feel comfortable anymore. With the media it was not great.
“When I had a good match it was an average match, when I was not good it was catastrophic. I do not play for them. It was never going to end for me. The episode of Lorient was the end. I decided to leave."
Aurier is set to feature for the Ivory Coast in their do-or-die 2018 World Cup qualifier against Morocco on Saturday evening.
