Despite their 3-1 loss at the hands of Manchester City, Nigeria and Arsenal striker Alex Iwobi has received praise from a former Tottenham Hotspur and England legend.
Ex-Lily Whites striker Les Ferdinand has praised Iwobi as the best player for the Gunners in their loss to City at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday.
Ferdinand was in the studio as a guest analyst and the former England international labelled Iwobi as fearless.
Iwobi’s smart turn helped beat two City defenders before his pass to Aaron Ramsey which led to the Wales international laying a pass to Alexandre Lacazette to score Arsenal’s only goal in the game.
”You have to look at the turn from Iwobi which started the move that lead to the goal,” said Ferdinand.
“Clearly showed his how confident he is with the ball at his feet. He was fearless but you can’t say the same about other Arsenal players.”
Iwobi will hope to show his worth this weekend when they meet Algeria in their final 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifier and in a friendly against Argentina next week in Russia.
