South African-based Egyptian striker Amr Gamal says he is ready to work hard and prove his worth in the Pharaohs side.

The Bidvest Wits forward in the South African Premier Soccer League is in camp with his national teammates for the 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Ghana.

Gamal is on a season-long loan at Wits after falling down the pecking order at Egyptian giants Al Ahly, but the 26-year-old is doing well in the PSL.

“We have worked hard as a unit to secure the World Cup qualification.” said Gamal.

“Bidvest’s experience has given me a lot of confidence and I’m ready to prove myself at the national team. I had to leave Al Ahly to get more playing time, but I hope to return back again.

“It’s a healthy competition inside the pitch. The most important thing is to achieve the national team’s goals in the upcoming period.”

The Pharaohs will face the Black Stars on Sunday, November 12 at Cape Coast Stadium.

Hector Cuper's men, though, have already booked their place at the World Cup.
