Liverpool FC forwards Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah are among the nominees for the BBC African Footballer of the Year 2017.

Mane and Salah have both had a great 2017 - playing an instrumental role in helping Senegal and Egypt respectively qualify for the 2018 FIFA World Cup finals.

The duo have also been consistent performers for the Reds in the English Premier League (EPL) and UEFA Champions League this season.

Gabon and Borussia Dortmund striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who won the 2016/17 German Bundesliga Golden Boot award, has also been nominated.

Guinea and RB Leipzig star midfielder Naby Keita, who was one of the best players in the German Bundesliga last season, is also part of the five-man shortlist.

Lastly, Nigerian defender-cum-midfielder Victor Moses helped Chelsea win the 2016/17 EPL title and he has been deservedly nominated for the accolade.
