Ghana coach James Kwesi Appiah has revealed that goalkeeper Adam Kwarasey is reluctant to return to the national team fold.

The 29-year-old ‘keeper, who plays his club football with Valerenga in Norway, has not appeared for Ghana since the 2014 World Cup.

Appiah included the gloves-man in his list of 23 players for the 2018 World Cup qualifier against Egypt this past weekend, but Kwarasey did not report for duty.

The Ghana coach claims to have had several discussions with the goalkeeper, but it seems he is not keen on playing for the Black Stars again.

“There’s no single call up I don’t consider, with Adam Kwarasey I talked to him and asked Richard Kingston to take it up from there but getting to time to do the call ups, he gives excuses," Appiah disclosed on Nhyira FM.

“No player should feel bigger than Ghana, Ghana is bigger than any player."

Kwarasey has kept one clean sheet in 12 appearances for Valeranga in the ongoing Norwegian Tippeligaen.
