Ugandan international midfielder Hassan Wasswa has heaped praise on local-based players as he wished them the best of luck in the forthcoming CECAFA and CHAN tournaments.

Wasswa was impressed by the Cranes' local-based player after bagging a 1-1 draw against Congo Brazzaville in the last Group E tie of their FIFA 2018 World Cup Qualifiers.

NGELE EAGER TO CONTRIBUTE TO SUNDOWNS' SUCCESS
This comes after interim coach, Moses Basena summoned only seven foreign-based players for the engagement against the Red Devils.

“We played as a team and as players, we are happy with the result we got,” said Wasswa.

“Overall, it’s not disaster to finish second in the group. Now we are back at club and the focus shifts to next game in March.

“However, our local based players are now focusing on CHAN and CECAFA. Actually, the local based players showed they can play and I wish them all the best in CHAN and am confident they will do well in CHAN.”
