Cape Town City and Baroka FC will meet for a top-of-the-table Absa Premiership clash at Cape Town Stadium on 21 November 2017, kick-off at 18h00.

City climbed up to third place on the log standings with a 1-0 home win over Free State Stars on November 1. The victory arrived on the back of successive losses to Bloemfontein Celtic and Chippa United, and would have come as a major relief to the Cape Town side.

The Citizens have blown hot and cold at home so far this season, with three wins and two defeats from their five turns as hosts. Their home losses have been at the hands of Kaizer Chiefs and Bloemfontein Celtic.

Baroka extended their lead at the top of the table to two points when they were held 1-1 at AmaZulu on November 1. The Limpopo side’s strong start to the season has kept them floating at the summit after claiming just two points from the last nine available.

Bakgaga are unbeaten away from home so far this season, with a fine return of three wins and two draws from five games on the road. Their last away win was against Kaizer Chiefs in Durban in late September.

In head-to-head stats, City and Baroka have met in just two previous top flight matches. Both of those encounters took place last season, with Bakgaga claiming a 2-1 win in Cape Town in the first half of the campaign, but the return game in Limpopo was won 3-0 by the Citizens.

City’s line-up from their 1-0 win over Stars on November 1: Stephens, Mkhize, Gumede, Martins, Seedat, Matsi, Fielies, Putsche (Masina 75’), Modise (Johannes 90’), Lakay, Obinna (Moseamedi 40’).

Baroka’s line-up from their 1-1 draw with AmaZulu on November 1: Vries, Shaku, Matloga (Mahashe 77'), Chawapiwa (Ngalande 63'), Banda, Moeti, Kgoetyane, Mothupa, Madubanya, Mdantsane, Motupa (Nguzana 83').
