Arsenal close to appointing scout who discovered Aubameyang

Arsenal are reportedly closing in on the appointment of the scout who brought Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to Borussia Dortmund.

BVB’s Sven Mislintat is expected to be unveiled as a Gunners recruit in the coming days, with the English club having to pay a hefty compensation to their German counterparts.

Mislintat is in line to replace Steve Rowley, who has served as Arsenal's head of recruitment since 1996 and set to leave the club at the end of the 2017/18 season.

Mislintat is credited with discovering stars such as Aubameyang, who was the Bundesliga’s top scorer last season and is widely regarded as one of the most dangerous forwards in European football.

The likes of Robert Lewandowski, USA international Christian Pulisic and Ousmane Dembele, who left Dortmund to join Barcelona over the summer in a deal worth £135.5m, are also ‘finds’ of Mislintat.
