Polokwane City and Maritzburg United played to a goalless stalemate in an Absa Premiership clash at the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane on Wednesday night.
The result extending the Team of Choice's winless run in the league to seven matches, as they remain in 13th spot on the log standings. A third successive draw takes Rise and Shine up one spot to 11th.
The game struggled to kick into gear with neither side showing any real impetus in the opening half-hour, with nothing to write home about as the two teams failed to create any noteworthy attempts at goal.
Maritzburg finally conjured something notable in the 39th minute, but Evans Rusike was unable to convert following good work down the flank by Mxolisi Kunene.
Either side tried their luck from range in the closing exchanges of the half, but neither could find the back of the net before the break.
Rise and Shine, nor their Premiership counterparts were willing to take a leap of faith as the same tempo continued following the interval.
The game threatened to finally spark into life in the final 10 minutes, but it was not to be as both teams ultimately settled for a point apiece in what was a largely uneventful evening in the Limpopo province.
