Golden Arrows let a two-goal slip to be held 2-2 by Cape Town City in an Absa Premiership clash at Princess Magogo Stadium on Saturday night.
Abafana Bes’thende looked on course for all three point after they claimed a two-goal lead through Siphelele Magubane and Jabulani Shongwe, but the Citizens struck back late on through Ayanda Patosi and Thabo Nodada to secure a share of the spoils.
The result sees both teams miss out on the chance to go to the top of the log. Arrows are second on 17 points from 12 matches, while City have the same tally from a game less.
The Durban side claimed the lead late in the first half through Magubane, who got the better of City goalkeeper Sage Stephens to leave the hosts 1-0 up the break.
Arrows’ advantage was doubled midway through the second stanza when Shongwe found the back of the net, putting them firmly on course for a first win since September.
However, City gave themselves a glimmer of hope with 10 minutes of regulation time remaining when playmaker Ayanda Patosi pulled one back, while in the 89th minute their comeback was complete when Nodada netted their second.
Both teams will be in action again on December 5: Arrows will be away to Free State Stars, while City will host Maritzburg United.
