The forward has provided an update regarding his injury which saw him miss Cameroon’s last match earlier this month.

Bassogog was called up for the Indomitable Lions’ final 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Zambia which ended in a 2-2 draw in Ndola on the 11th of November 2017.

The Cameroon medical team indicated that the player was not fit for the match after discovering that the China-based striker was carrying a knee injury.

Bassogog has informed Camfoot that he’s recovering well from the injury during the Chinese Super League off-season.

“My injury is improving and I think I'll be back soon. I am on vacation for now and I will take the opportunity to heal,” Bassogog said.

The 22-year-old marksman netted 10 goals in 24 league appearances for Henan Jianye during the 2017 Chinese Super League season.

The team managed to survive relegation and they are set to campaign in the elite league during the 2018 campaign.

He recently indicated that he would consider offers from European clubs having joined Jianye from Danish side AaB Fodbold in February 2017.
