Ugandan-born defender Daniel Ojara says he wants to dump his country of birth at international level and play for Sweden.
The 22-year-old left Uganda in 2014 for greener pastures in Sweden to develop his talent, build connections and live a better life than he was previously experiencing.
Currently in Sweden with a lower division club, Scandinavia Football Club, the club has expressed their wish to transform his citizenship.
“My own security is at stake back home. I wish never to return for the sake of my lif,e” Ojara disclosed to Kawowo Sports.
“I look forward changing citizenship so that I can fully concentrate on my career and settle these ends.”
Ojara hails from the Northern Uganda district of Gulu where he embarked on his career before crossing over to the famous Kampala Kids League team.
KKL exposed him through the Gothia and Tivoli cups in Sweden and Norway, where he won a number of accolades in the Danish and England Cup tournaments.
Together with the Okello duo of Ceaser and Martin as well as Baker Kiyemba, Ojara allegedly fled to Sweden in 2014 after being accused of illegal same sex acts.
Ojara was part of the Copa Coca Cola select team for Uganda that held training camps in South Africa where they also played a number of friendly matches in 2008 and 2009.
