Former Cameroon and Arsenal star, Lauren Etame-Mayer says Mohamed Salah can do better than Didier Drogba in the English Premier League.

The Egyptian international is making waves in the EPL for Liverpool and will hope to break Drogba's goal scoring records for Chelsea.

Salah has netted 10 goals in 13 starts and that has convinced Etame-Mayer that he could overtake Drogba as the greatest African in the world’s most popular league.

Although he struggled previously at the Blues, Salah is exceptional for the Reds, but has a daunting task ahead of him to break Drogba's 104 goal record in Chelsea colours.

“Salah could be the best – he’s still young and he’s playing with such a great team in Liverpool,” Lauren told Omnisport.

“He could be, why not? We’ve had some great players like [Tony] Yeboah and [Andre] Ayew. Drogba did a lot.

“To be honest, I have some doubts that he can pass Drogba. He was one of the best African players in the Premier League.

“To pass that is difficult, but we’ll see. Time will tell us, but at the moment I’m sticking with Drogba. I think he’s one of the best African players to have played in the Premier League.”
