South African international Bongani Zungu says he is hoping to score more goals for his French club Amiens.
The 25-year-old midfielder netted his first goal for his side as they beat Metz 2-0 in a Ligue 1 match on Saturday
"Yeah, it was a very good goal," Zungu told KickOff.com.
"I’m happy to have scored and hopefully I can get more important goals that can help the team to achieve and keep climbing up the log.
The former Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder helped his side secured another league win on Tuesday. He played the entire match as Amiens beat Dijon 2-1.
Zungu stated that they can not afford to get ahead of themselves, and urges continued team work to keep building on their good form.
“We’re seventh on the log now. It’s exciting times but we have to remain humble and keep working hard because we’re working for one another," he added.
The two wins took Amiens to ninth spot on the Ligue 1 standings. Zungu and his team-mates will take on Rennes in another league game on Saturday.
Zungu joined newly promoted side Amiens from Portuguese club Vitoria Guimaraes in August 2017.
