Tanzania were denied a win when they played to a 0-0 draw in their first Group A 2017 CECAFA Senior Challenge match on Sunday at Machakos Kenyatta Stadium in Kenya.
In the wake of the goalless draw, Tanzania sit at number two in the group with one point from their opening match and will meet Zanzibar on Thursday.
It was the second Group A match of the 2017 CECAFA Senior Challenge after Rwanda lost 2-0 to hosts Kenya in the opening match of the tournament.
Chances on goal were few and far between throughout the match. Both teams were poor in the final third due to bad decision making.
The North Africans found the back of the net in the 35th minute, but the goal was disallowed for an offside.
Despite both sides pushing for a goal it was 0-0 at the end of the opening half.
Coming from the tunnel, Libya showed quality going into the final third but still could not find a way through the stubborn Tanzanian defence.
It was end-to-end stuff in the dying stages of the contest, but neither side could break the deadlock and they both settled for a point apiece.
The draw for Libya sees them sitting at number three in the group with one point from as many games and will now face Rwanda in their next game on Thursday.
