Spanish giants Barcelona are monitoring Napoli’s Senegalese defender Kalidou Koulibaly with a view to possibly signing the player next year.
Barca are in the market for a centre-back as they prepare for life after Gerard Pique and Javier Mascherano.
Il Mattino reports that the Catalan side have regularly sent scouts to Stadio San Paolo this season, with the Teranga Lions defender their primary focus.
Yet Barca will surely face stiff competition for Koulibaly’s signature, as Chelsea have had multiple offers turned down by Napoli president Aurelio de Laurentiis.
However, it is believed that de Laurentiis and Napoli will relent at the end of the 2017/18 season and sell the powerful defender for a fee in the region of €60m.
