Egyptian legend Ahmed Hossam Mido has parted ways with Egyptian Premier League side Wadi Degla with immediate effect after their 4-0 defeat to Ittihad of Alexandria.
Following their heavy defeat to 10th-place Ittihad on Sunday, the former Tottenham Hotspur forward announced his resignation.
Degla are currently struggling in the relegation zone as they sit 16th on the league table with eight points after 12 rounds in the 2017/18 season.
“I submitted my resignation to Wadi Degla officials. I thank everyone in the club for supporting me during my time at the club and I wish them luck in the upcoming period,” said Mido on Twitter.
“And I specifically thank my brother Maged Samy [Wadi Degla owner]."
The 34-year-old coach led Degla to a 12th-place finish after replacing Patrice Carteron at the beginning of the 2016/17 season.
Currently looking for a coach, Degla’s next game will be against Al Masry on December 9 in the Egyptian Cup, before taking on Arab Contractors in the league five days later.
